vrf Matlab Skript doesn't start

Question asked by VRFuser on Nov 2, 2007
Axel,

I have run into a similar problem. Cao Luo (Agilent) helped solve the issue (Thanks Cao). The following two emails might be able to help:
1)

Hi Matthew,

Do you install a standalone MATLAB on your machine?

I met the similar case once: a standalone MATLAB is installed on the PC and VEE Pro uses the standalone MATLAB to run the MATLAB script; the standalone MATLAB uses network license, so if the PC doesn’t connect to the network, the standalone MATLAB will fail at the startup and VEE Pro will report this error.

2)

Matt,

It is true that VEE can use own built-in MATLAB engine.

VEE uses MATLAB engine through MATLAB COM server.  But there can only be one MATLAB COM server on the PC. After VEE installs, VEE will register the built-in MATLAB engine as the COM server at the first run if there is no MATLAB COM server exists. But when you install a standalone MATLAB on your PC, the standalone MATLAB will register its self as the MATLAB COM server, which is why VEE will choose the standalone MATLAB to run the MATLAB script.

If you want to use the built-in MATLAB engine to run the MATLAB script in VEE, you can do this: go to <VEE install dir>matlab inwin32 in command line, run command “matlab /regserver”, which will register the built-in MATLAB engine in VEE as COM server; after that you need to remove the path of the standalone MATLAB installation dir from the system variable “Path”, which may impact the usage of the standalone MATLAB.

If you want to use the standalone MATLAB to run the MATLAB script in VEE, you need to register the standalone MATLAB as the COM server, the command is still “matlab /regserver”, and also the path of the standalone MATLAB installation dir should be added back to the system variable “Path”.

Hope this will help.

Cao Luo.

Subject: [vrf] Matlab Skript doesn't start

Hi there,
after installing matlab R2006b I can't start any matlab-Skripts within VEE 7.51, because there is always the error (I don't know the correct english sentence…) 'Prozedureinsprungpunkt "utCsqrt" was not found in DLL "libut.dll".

After googleing I found out that this is because of a wrong version between different applications using matlab and has sth. to do with the path variable.

But what can I do??

Any Hints?

Greetings, Axel.
