vrf DOS Batch Files

Question asked by VRFuser on Aug 7, 2007
Scott  and  Joel,

Thanks for the input. I worked on Scotts idea and made it little more sophisticated. I can now control the execution and flow of the whole program using the keys on the Analyzer front key panel.

Here’s a little snippet of code that may serve your purpose.  It turns on a marker and then sits looping and checking to see if the markers have been turned off.  Once the markers have been turned off, the object stops looping and the prog goes on to the next task.  Kind of the long way around the problem, but it works!  Perhaps you could modify it, put it another loop that’ll trigger your prog when the markers have been turned off?

I just thought of an alternative method.  You could have the PC monitor the 8753.  There was some capability to recognize key presses, so you could look for a key press on the PC, using some monitoring program, then activate your VXE when the key was pressed.  I haven't ever done this, but I have see some customers that have done this, using remote commands to write custom lables to the softkeys, then read them back using the PC.

Subject: [vrf] 8753E - Initiating a VXE on a PC with a Soft Key
I have compiled a .VXE for 8753E Analyzer and assigned it to an enter key of the PC Keyboard. Everything works fine but the problem is ---- PC is located far from the Analyzer. So, everytime I have to reach the PC in order to run the .VXE.

Is there a way to invoke this .VXE (which is located on the PC) using the keyboard of the Analyzer (Probably assigning to one of the soft keys or so..)

Thanks,
Bharadvaj
