vrf timeout problem

Probably not, but remember - it's Windows.

If you're using Vista, don't be surprised by illogical socket behavior. In fact, I've found that pretty much anything can happen without provocation. I have yet to see Dancing Bozos appear on the screen for no apparent reason but who knows? This too could change.
