vrf Record constants and GUIs

Question asked by VRFuser on Apr 21, 2008
Dear Mike and Jochen,

I think I have an easier solution for copying a UF from one Vee program to another:

1.       Right click on the title bar of UF to copy and select “Copy”  (the keyboard shortcut CTRL-C does not work for this step)

2.       Go to the Vee program to paste it into and (Here is the trick) a white space, like another User Function’s white background.  You can either right click and paste, or use the keyboard shortcut CTRL-V.

The trick is the white space is where you need to right click and paste for the mouse method (it does nothing to the UF you are pasting it on).  Just selecting another UF will allow you to use the keyboard shortcut.

If the Vee program you are pasting into has the same name UF, it just adds a unique number to the end of the name.

I have been using this for years, and I think the keyboard shortcut to copy broke a few versions back as I recall.

Jochen,

If you are looking to duplicate the user function within the same instance of vee –

Open the user function, right click on its title bar and choose clone.

If you want to copy the user function to another instance of vee –

Either

a.       save a copy of your program with just the user functions you want to copy, and choose merge library from the file menu and select this saved file

b.       Right click on the title of the user function – choose make user object.  Place the object on main.  CTRL-C to copy the user object.  Click over to the new vee program. Click CTRL-V to paste the user object.  Right click on the user object and Choose make user function.

This is awkward, but it does work.

Hope this helps,

Mike

Subject: [vrf] How to copy User-Functions?

Hello,

is there a way to copy and paste a UF?

It looks like as its only possible to cut the UF and then paste it twice. Is this correct?

Why is the cut-command only available in the "right-click-on-UF-menue" and not as keyboard-shortcut "STRG+X"?

Are there any plausible explanations why it is like this?

Thx
