vrf Can't use Shift Reg w/Declared Vars

Question asked by VRFuser on Aug 14, 2007
I sorta found it by accident. My original suggestion was going to be a formula with (A==""?" ":A). When I realized it returned 0 I just tried A.

Good one. Interesting that a formula converts NIL to 0.

If you run that into a formula box with just "A" as the formula it will generate an additional zero in the "1 prev" output, if you can live with that.

Subject: [vrf] Can't use Shift Reg w/Declared Vars

The attached is a small piece of a function I'm working on. I like to declare all my local Vars so I don't clutter up the watch window.

I tired declaring the vars as Variant instead of Real64, but that only works the first time through the loop. Once the shift reg is reset and outputs another NIL I get the same message.

My workaround is to not declare the vars I'm using with the shift reg. Any other ideas?

Thanks,
Bill
