vrf VRF Passing Instrument adress into vee-function

Question asked by VRFuser on May 14, 2008
Hello,

you could use profiling to find out how much time is used on the function and from that decide, whether it is time consuming. If it turns out that it is time consuming it might help to keep a record of the actual address you used last time and only update the address if there is a change.

Subject: [vrf] [VRF] Passing Instrument adress into vee-function

Hello,
i´m using Vee 8.5 and created a vee-library for an instrument with several functions.
I have two identical instruments which are connected via LAN. Now the library should run for both instruments which means i have to pass the IP into the functions.
For this i added a function which runs "io.MYINSTR.VisaAddress = Address;"
It works without problems, but the question is: Is there a timin problem when i change the IP of each direct-IO before running it?
Is there a faster was to do this?

Attached an example of how it looks currently

best regards
J.
