vrf VNA8753 (external control inputs)

Question asked by VRFuser on Jul 30, 2007
It depends upon what commands you send before.  If you send a Sing command, it means "single sweep the analyzer and hold it after the sweep so that the data doesn't change before I read it out".  To start sweeping again, send the CONT command.

If you use the fast outputs (Outpdatf, outpforf), rather than the regular (outpdata, outpform), then it instructs the analyzer to "hold the data acquisition until the GP-IB command completes)," ; you must read out all the bytes before it will sweep again, or send a clear to the analyzer address.

Subject: [vrf] VNA8753 (external control inputs)

I am programming 8753E via GPIB in order to extract some data. The problem is as soon as I run the vee program to extract the data, I get the data but it freezes the display screen of the analyzer. I would like to look at the data on the Analyzer screen before I save it. Is there a way to stop the Analyzer from freezing up like this.

Probably I can include an additional instruction at the end of the vee program which tells the Analyzer to free up and act normally? I just don't know what that instruction would be...

Can anyone guide me...

Thanks,
Bharadvaj
