You could use Vee to launch the Expect app.

With telnet, I have to login to the remote computer  in an interactive fashion.  I want to invoke a function on the remote Linux machine
without any manual intervention.  Besides, I might have to   take a few
decisions based on response to previous commands there.  I want to do all this programmatically in VEE (running on WinXP as I stated earlier).

Tcl and Expect can do this very easily, but does VEE have any such option?

Regards,
Uday

Simple & direct: telnet, rlogin or anything of that nature. Telnet is probably a very good choice as it's nearly platform independent. Heck, there's even one for Amiga. Also, if you wanted to go another route you'd probably end up emulating a protocol (i.e. rlogin or similar).
