Hello,
Well we have a similar one licence per developer "gentleman's agreement" with Agilent. I have actually keep one spare licence for short period developers use.
But the question is that do this 8.5 have a some kind of "sw build in licence engine" that permits installing more than 2 Vee's per licence? Or using more than 1 at the same time.

Hi,
It’s been discussed before, see below from the attached mail.
I checked the license.txt file for 7.0, it’s the same as 8.5.
My personal interpretation is one license per developer – but I may be wrongJ

Licensing:
I am the only one in my group that uses VeePro for development and it would be nice if I could do that on any of the computers. Of course since I am the only one in the group that will be writing programs, only one computer would be used for development at a time.
For the situation you describe, with you as the only developer, installing VEE Pro on numerous computers only one of which will have VEE Pro in use at any one time, yes, you can go ahead and do that under the new terms. The important concept is "single simultaneous use": as long as only one copy is in use at any given time, a single licensed unit of VEE can be installed where you need it.
But if you do hire or train up a second developer, please buy another copy of VEE.

Hello all,
2 installations is way too few when you need to develop/debug software in multiple different test racks. There is now way to debug the software anywhere else that the desktop computer of that rack (since some of the instruments are card based). If I have say 15 racks then I would need to purchase 8 licences to cover my racks even when only one person is doing the development work.
I think that I just cannot be this way!!! It has to be one licence per one developer.
Some of these racks are not even connected to network for security reasons so "one develop version active at one time" net solution is not on option. UBS key do not work eithet because when I do debug run on one rack (and wait for error) I go to another rack to debug that.
Please Agilent comment on this, since it is sure sounds a showstopper (jusk like the infamous 6.1 some years ago).
Cheers,
Tapio

Hi Dave,
From the license.txt file:
“you may use one copy of the software portion of the Licensed Materials on a single computer in your workplace and on a single computer located in your home. “
I think Flex-lm has been there all the time, just a different user interface
- and it is NOT locked to the MAC address (except for 6.1).
Best Regards

This isn’t the same FLEX technology that has made such a mess of the latest Adobe CS3 software is it? I have heard many horror stories about licenses stopping working and locking users out of their software – I would hate to think that could happen with something we use for production testing.
We are still on Vee 7.0 and I do a fair bit of Vee program development at home (unpaid overtime
