Hello,

SYSTem:INTerface {GPIB|RS232}

I would like to know, what is the exact usage of this command?

I thought that it sets the remote communication type to RS-232 if it was previously (manually) set to GPIB and inversely.

But obviously it is not working, since the connection can only be opened for that type that is ALREADY set to the device (manually or not, it does not matter). And after being opened, it does not let you change this communication type by software.
See the attached picture (from Command Expert).

I guess it must have then some other significance than the one I thought.

Can somebody explain me this?

Thanks.
