This is regarding the RMS detector of operation of the spectrum analyzer. Consider the following set up.
Start Freq 10 MHz
Stop Freq 110 MHz
# of Sweep Points 100.
So there will be 100 buckets in the display with discrete sweep points as 10, 11,12 …110 MHz. With RMS detector, the RMS value of all points in a bucket is calculated and displayed. My question is, how many points are there in each bucket?. Is this number of points in each bucket a function of instrument ?

First, If you want discrete points at 10, 11, etc, you need 101 points. A detector "bucket" is the frequency span, or interval, between points.
