I would like to upgrade my 70340A, of course no longer supported, to the options:
1E8 1Hz frequency resolution. I guess, after reading the manual, it is a software related option ; is it tied with the serial number and does anybody in the factory still get the unlock key ? It seems common with the 83731A.
1E1 step attenuator : I have got a 90db attenuator from a 83731A and the piece of cable coming with it is a still available part. But, how can I tell the microprocessor, there is an attenuator ? It was very easy with the 8340/1 and 8360X : you had to change by the front panel a documented cal constant in the CPU...
Thanks

Yes, unfortunately 70340A is no longer supported. The option 1E8 wasn't just a software related option, it required a different A7 YO Loop/Offset board assembly. 1E8 used 83711-60110 (also known as the 1 Hz offset synthesizer) instead of the standard 83711-60003. This hardware is no longer available.
Best regards,
