phase stability/repeatability with bnc and sma/3.5mm connectors

hi everyone,

i have an application where i am measuring the phase of a signal.  i am looking for data to examine the reliability of a measurement over time.  this is to say, if i measure a "black box" with a bnc connector, what sort of phase stability/reliability could i expect?  what if i used an sma/3.5 mm connector where a torque wrench is used?  let's say that my measurement is around 100 MHz.

specifically, i am not looking for anecdotal evidence.  while i know that sma/3.5 mm is significantly better, i'd like to see some sort of reference or white paper that has this discussion.

help!
