Comparing RTDs to Thermistors, A Simple Negative and Positive Temperature Coefficient Demonstration
RTDs and thermistors are both popular temperature sensors as both are resistance devices that change proportional to temperature. In this video we show how RTDs resistance increases with temperature while a thermistor's resistance lowers with a temperature increase. The devices are measured with Agilent's 34411A and an Agilent 34410A Digital Multimeter. The multimeters feature algorithms to measure temperature directly from the most popular thermistors RTDs and PRTDs
