Peak-Peak or RMS measurement on Agilent Power Supplies

Question asked by paulf on Apr 23, 2012
The issue that customers encounter with ripple/noise measurement is very common, this is mainly due to common mode noise that is occurring between PS and oscilloscope. To resolve this issue this measurement is typically done with differential amplifier “Lecroy 1855A”. The electronic load is considerably easier to use than load resistors, however E-load input noise may impact your measurement. Please see my drawing for a recommended setup for this measurement.
