Reciprocal mixing - circuit envelope

Question asked by CYBERPHOX on Apr 18, 2012

I am trying to create simple test bench using a mixer, two RF sources (wanted signal and larger interferer) at the input of the mixer and an rf source with phase noise for the local oscillator.

Using circuit envelope I can see the phase noise on the IF carrier as you would expect. What I am trying to do is see the noise floor increase with a large interferring signal where you get reciprocal mixing.

Is it possible to do this, are there any examples?

kind regards,
