Do cables from 8753A to S-parameter test set need to be phase matched?

A friend of mine has an 8753A, with an S-parameter test set. There are 4 short cables with N plugs on each end which link the VNA to the S-parameter test set. Three are faily close together, and the 4th is a little bit to the left of the other three.

The cables look like this:

He has an intermittant problem and suspects one of those cables.  Do they need to be phase matched - if so, to what tollerence? Do those cables have to be a particular electrical length?

I have one of those 8753A's myself, which is rather smashed up due to the result of a moron packing it for transatlantic shipping like this:

I suspect he will just buy one from eBay if the fault is with them, but I'm just curious to know whether there is anything very special about those cables.
