I have a 5342A mw frequency counter that has stopped automatically scanning the input for center frequency. If I manually tell it what frequency to expect, it will correctly show the exact MW input frequency. But if I let it work automatically, it just displays "0" for frequency.
I have a spare parts unit. Does anyone know, from these symptoms, which board is bad. I could do a quick swap out of boards.

I'm not a 5342A expert, but wanted to recommend also posting a request for help on the Yahoo Message Board

This group is very dedicated to keeping 'old' HP/Agilent equipment alive and working. There are some very knowledgeable people, many ex-HP/Agilent that worked on this older equipment.
Hope this helps.
