I stand corrected. While this is true of the 66xx series, going back to
the original query shows that the user wanted a 66332, which is a much
newer and different supply than the 66xx. The 663xx appears to be
fully SCPI, so the *IDN? _should_ work. And interestingly the 663xx series
appear to have compatibility mode so that it will respond _also_
to the same commands as the older 66xx.

In any case the full programming manuals for these are available
on Agilent's external web ( www.agilent.com), should you need
to research more details.
