vrf Can i run two two VEE apps at the same time

They both are identical other than they write to unique files and use different com ports. However, the applications appear to have 100% CPU usage and I sometimes get COM timeouts and very slow PC response when they are both running. <STRONG>What are the factors which affect CPU usage?</STRONG> The com. ports are being constantly written to and read from (at 19200 baud).
