vrf Releasing a Serial Communication Port

Question asked by VRFuser on Feb 16, 2005
Do an Execute Close in a direct I/O box before your PC call and that will release the comm port.  Make sure that your called program releases the comm port or VEE may not be able to use it again after your call.

Subject: [vrf] Releasing a Serial Communication Port

I was wondering if someone has come across a method to release a comm port
without shutting down VEE?

I have a program  (PC executable) that requires the use of the Comm Port
that I would like to control with VEE. The problem is that VEE had used the
Comm Port and would not release it for another program to use.

Thanks

Philippe
