vrf AW: Search for Cell in Excel for VEE 5

Question asked by detlef.baranski on Jan 26, 2006

I do not know if you have access to this example ( Vee 6 perhaps ? )
But in the example folder there is ExcelAsDatabase.vee  what I think does
exactly what you want ?
Should run on VEE 5 also...

On the other hand you can start a macro in excel via vee- should be faster
to get the result then when using large numbers.

Best regards,
detlef

Betreff: [vrf] Search for Cell in Excel for VEE 5

Hi,

Does anyone have an Active X example of how to search the first column of an
Excel sheet for a text string . My customer has 1300 rows of test parameter
dataand I need to identify the specific row by its unique text string in
the first row of each column.

I do have Vee code which works fine for this but I wrote it about 8 years
ago and used the DDE function rather than Active X. WhenI used it I only
had about 20 rows of data.

I am using VEE 5.01

Hope someone can help.

Best wishes,

Ashley
