Did a little poking and I'll assume that "taxtscan" is a typo
and you really meant "textscan", in which case there may be
a problem. So far as I can tell "textscan" was added to Matlab
for rev 7. VEE 7.x ships with OEM rev 6.

So unless the VEE interface will talk to Matlab 7 ( no idea
but maybe VEE folks will chime in with the answer ) then
you won;t be able to use "textscan" in a Matlab Script object
even if you do buy Matlab. In current versions of VEE at least.
