It appears to me that the userFunction showPanel you have created is
overriding the built-in VEE function of the same name. Since the
userFunction has no input arguments you get an error when you call it with
5 arguments. This is in conflict with the
hierarchy  described in the Help for the Call object whch states:

If a function is defined with the same name as a built-in VEE function,
such as COS, the built-in function overrides the user-defined function.

I have verified that this problem exists with the Call object also. I am
submitting a bug report via ADN.
