Does anyone have an example illustrating how to read from a National Instruments DataSocket using VEE?
Â
More than a year ago an Agilent rep e-mailed me an example program called OPC_client.vee which illustrates the use of an ActiveX control that connects to an NI OPC server. It appears that the example program only connects to the server and displays status; it doesn't read any data. (I no longer have or can recall the Agilent rep's name).
Â
I was able to modify the example to connect to an NI DataSocket (using the dstp:// URL syntax). However, it is not obvious how you go about reading data from a DataSocket. Can anyone help?
Â
Info on DataSockets can be found at http://www.ni.com/datasocket/ds_what.htm. DataSockets are part of NI's LabVIEW. The DataSocket ActiveX controls are part of NI's Measurement Studio.
