vrf Oscilloscope

Question asked by VRFuser on Sep 7, 2007
Hi Bernd,

All of the Agilent scopes can be controlled through Direct IO in VEE.  This is done at the SCPI command level.  VEE takes care of the IO.  An especially nice feature of the current VEE is the support for IVI-COM.  They have done a very good job of laying out the IVI-COM Objects, methods, and properties making it easy to see what is available and to make assignments.  Most Agilent scopes have IVI-COM support.

All of the Agilent scopes except for the very low end 3000 scopes have a SCPI command to capture a screenshot.

Subject: [vrf] Oscilloscope

I'm looking for a Scope. We alredy have some Tektronix Scopes but Agilent does have good looking too. Maybe the Agilent's are easier to program with VEE?

I don't need to program a Scope yet but perhaps later on. So is there a difference in programming? One thing what could be interested is to get a "picture" from a Scope and look if the signal meets the requirements.

I think Agilents Scope have USB Driver for VEE and the Tektronix maybe not?

Any experience and hints?

Bernd
