vrf LAN pains with VEE... turning off and on..

Question asked by alex.barrett on Sep 7, 2006

Hi fellow vrf'ers,

We're using a lot of LXI based instruments in our new test system.  We've found that if you switch them off and on (not something you want to happen but still need to cater for), there doesn't appear to be any way to handle the resulting error in vee and pick up the instrument again  - unlike GPIB where you'd just hang an error pin off the direct I/O and continue as normal when the instrument returns.

error given is:Lock acquisition failed on instrument xxx - Error 814.

Anyone come across this or found a way to recover without restarting VEE?

cheers,

Alex.
