During the *Signal Generator Back-to-Basics Webcast*, hosted by Agilent Technologies, on 29 February 2012, we received a number of real-time questions from a broad audience.
If one person asks - someone else will want to know the answer too - so we have captured various questions and answers and are posting them individually here, in this Forum, for your future reference and immediate enjoyment!
*Question: Could you talk a little bit about the multi-tone feature available in your ESG's? Can we use that to do two-tone tests? What are the limitations?*

If more tones are needed, you can use any of these signal generators in conjunction with the N7621B Signal Studio for Multi-tone Distortion software (see: http://www.home.agilent.com/agilent/product.jspx?cc=US&lc=eng&pageMode=OV&pid=1160743&ct=PRODUCT&id=1160743). This setup enables you to generate up to 4097 tones within the 80 MHz bandwidth and provides a pre-distortion algorithm to correct the signals, greatly improving the distortion-free dynamic range.
