Waitaminute - you said the *second* time through. Hm, that's different. I can't imagine. It's hard to even come up with some scenario that works the first time but throws this the second time. Is there anything hooking COM on this PC?

Well, Sky says that means "An invalid field name was used in a query
string." Obviously, this is incorrect. IOW, we've encountered that most
hilarious of scenarios, the famous Comp/Edit 5810 "Erroneous Error".
Since this problem is isolated to one particular machine I'd hazard a guess
that the registry is farkled - though farkled in a way I would have thought
impossible. You might want to try running chkdsk. If no problems turn up,
and if a scan & fix of the registry doesn't cure the problem, try
reinstalling Excel.
