Subject: [vrf] IO Suite 14.1 Patch 2
All,
Â
I installed the following patch to IO Suite v14.1.8016.0:
Â
Agilent IO Libraries Suite 14.1.8016.0 Patch 2Â , Version 14.1.8310.1, December 6, 2005, 11.5 MB, .exe. Patch 2 includes several defect fixes. Patch 2 also incorporates all defect fixes that were included in IO Libraries Suite 14.1 Patch 1. Do not install Patch 2 if your currently-installed IO Libraries Suite version number is greater than 14.1.8311.0. Later patches will incorporate all defect fixes included in Patch 2.
Â
And, strangely, when I do Help/About my IO Suite still says it's version is v14.1.8016.0.
Â
Is this normal or did my patch not succeed?
Â
Thanks,
Bill

I didn't find a GPIB Device Class Driver service, but I did find an
Agilent Technologies gpib-32.dll File Monitor/Renamer service. When I
stopped that service the GPIB service notices also stopped. However,
when I restarted the service the GPIB notices did not return. Maybe
there is some problem with the initial starting of the service. I guess
I need to ask Agilent about this.

I wouldn't think so. It bears looking into maybe. If you can find this
service listed in your Services applet, right click it and select
properties. On the Recovery tab, change the "Subsequent failures" drop
down to "Run a Program". In the Program box, type c:itquit.bat. Create
c:itquit.bat:
@echo off
echo It quit again.
pause
If the service is crashing and something else is starting it up, now at
least you'll be notified when it crashes. Of course, you'll get this
window every seven seconds...
service from the command line (i.e. turn off this behavior in the batch
file) but I can't find the syntax.
