I am trying to use VEE 7.0 with a Pickering 50-513-021 PCI Switch and a NI 4070 PCI DMM. Can someone help me in getting VEE to identify these cards? I have never used VEE with a card on the PCI bus, other than a PCI to GPIB interface. Sample code would be appreciated, if available.

The GPIB PCI card is picked up by the AgilentIO library, which VEE relates to, but generally, any other PCI card is not.  Each card should have a DLL associated with them, although I am not familiar with them.  Usually NI will have a DAQ.dll, or DAQmx.dll that can be imported into VEE once you've converted the .h file correctly.  If the 4070 is a recent card, use MAX to setup a task, and then DAQmx.dll can be used to work the card.  Regards,

For the 4070 DMM, I would consider upgrading to VEE 7.5. The Agilent folks did a good job of making the NI modular instruments easier to use in that version--it shows up in the Instrument Manager like any other DMM. You can also get to the NI-DMM API and examples from the Instrument Manager. If you can upgrade, I think you will find this a lot easier than trying to program the 4070 through the DAQmx DLL.

Thanks Brian.
I have been thinking about upgrading, and wondered if anyone had used that feature of 7.5 with the NI DMM. If I can get the Pickering card to work in VEE, I will probably upgrade for that reason. Have you tried VEE 7.5 specifically with the PCI version of the 4070 DMM? That is what I am using.
I was using LabView 8 for this project, but had some issues getting reliable operation with the Pickering card. NI and Pickering have not been able to help yet, and I need to move on to other things soon. Hopefully VEE will work with the input Shawn provided.

I am trying to use VEE 7.0 with a Pickering 50-513-021 PCI Switch and a NI
4070 PCI DMM. Can someone help me in getting VEE to identify these cards?
I have never used VEE with a card on the PCI bus, other than a PCI to GPIB
interface. Sample code would be appreciated, if available.
