Â
Dale,
Â
First, I will assume that you have turned on 'Live mode' in the instrument's advanced settings.Â
Â
I have found that when changing the mode to Live that I have had to close the program and reopen it before the change shows up in the program.

Dale,
Â
Changing to a Live address should work, but you must remember to click “Save†in the I/O Instrument Manager before closing.
Â
If Save is greyed out it can be that the I/O configuration has been saved with the program at “Create Runtime Version†. How I got around, this quirk, was to:
1.      Save the project,
2.      Click on Create Runtime Version,
3.      Uncheck the Save I/O Configuration with Program,
4.      Close VEE development,
5.      Open VEE development,
6.      Open Project,
7.      Open I/O Instrument Manager,
8.      Edit the Instrument Properties, and type in a valid address. i.e. 714
9.      Close the Properties Box
10.  Click Save on the I/O Instrument Manager dialog box,
11.  Resave the project,
12.  Click on Create Runtime Version ensuring save I/O configuration with program is selected.
Â
I have since found that if you uncheck Save I/O configuration with program a text file with the project name and an extension of io is created. I’m guessing a little judicious text editing of the io file may convert a “Not Live†instrument to “Live†.
Â
Regards,
Gary

Can a 'dead' instrument in the Inst. Manager be brought to life? Changing interface to an active bus/address does not activate.
