vrf FW: problem with VEE/matlab plotting.

Question asked by bill.ossmann on Feb 4, 2003
That's right. clicking on the exposed VEE workspace sends the figure to the back, but does not minimize it. The next one pops up in front again whether or not I close the first. I'm running NT 4.0 SP6, Vee 6.01.

If you click the mouse on any part of the exposed Vee workspace on the screen the Matlab plot minimises.  Are you saying on your machine it doesn't?

Al,

I can't replicate your result. When I try it the second plot pops up in the same place as the first. You might try preceding the plot command with a figure command that sets a property or two such as 'Position' or 'Visible'. See the Matlab Script help for
the figure command. The general form is
figure('Position',[left,bottom,width,height],'Visible','on')

I have a Vee program (ver 6.01) that uses a matlab script to plot data. The
matlab script is inside of a loop that runs twice. On the first pass through
the loop, matlab generates a plot in the middle of my screen. I have a
message box outside the matlab script which keeps the plot on the screen for
inspection. After I click OK on the message box, I use another matlab script
which closes the matlab figure window. On the second pass through the script
the matlab generated figure appeas down in the task bar at the bottom of the
screen. I can click on  it and it appears on the screen with the new data.

I want the plot to appear on the screen, like it did on the first pass,  and
not down in the task bar. Does anyone have any ideas on how to make it
appear on screen on the second pass?

I have tried both closing the matlab figure widow and not closing it and it
does the same thing both ways.
Thanks,
