Question asked by mrgold on Feb 2, 2002
Just a quick note.  I wanted to let everyone know that I was able to use
VEE to control the serial port on my computer to produce a TTL signal to
switch a RF transfer switch (i.e. poor man's S-Parameter kit).

Thank you very much for your suggestions.

"You can use the hand shake pins in your serial port"

and sent me a quick example program with,

a DIRECT I/O object for the COM port with

WRITE IOCONTROL DTR 1

I then built a small circuit to convert the +15/-15 voltage levels of the
serial port to 5/0 volts, TTL levels.

It works great.

I wanted to thank everyone who replied so quickly.  It was wonderful to
know that this support network exists and that people respond to newbies.

Thank you very much,
