vrf COM or DCOM, and VEE and the decision to make VEE a COM object

Question asked by VRFuser on Dec 15, 2002
Hi Gregg,

Wasn't that just part of helping it integrate better into their new
T&M Toolkit thing that works with Visual Studio .NET?  I don't know,
I've never used Visual Studio, so I'm just guessing...

Cheers!

object

Hello from Gregg C Levine
Can anyone on the list explain this one to me? What prompted Agilent
to make the decision to make this version of VEE, which is 6.0.1, a
COM object? I ask this, because during my previous runs, using both
user created Active X controls, from Visual Studio 6.0, and ones
written by Microsoft, I am seeing the VEE engine turn up on the list
of active objects on the Visual Studio Analyzer, and with a typical
registration tag, as well. That is one of those confusing CLSID
markers. Just my curiosity working at full speed ahead, again.
