vrf Max. Firewire Cable Length

Question asked by VRFuser on Jul 21, 2002
I've read that the max. firewire cable length is 4.5m, but you can have 16
devices in one chain with 4.5 meters between each other, so that makes a lot
more... however I think that there are some cable manufacturers that say you
can use longer single cables. There are also firewire repeaters that can
increase their length (try OrangeMicro).

Asunto: vrf Max. Firewire Cable Length

Dear All,
I will be getting data from a remote device via firewire interface. Physical
distance between the device and the data acquisition system is an important
parameter. What is the maximum allowed cable length for firewire and is
there any repeaters to increase the length?
Regards
