Scott,
Where can I obtain this new version of the Digitator software ?? I went to
your website (http://www.hopelessflop.com/lets-digitate.html) and all I get
is a "The page cannot be displayed" error.
I was really dying to get the new Digitator 1.1 Rev. Guess I will try again
later.
Thanks,
Jeff Davis

A vrf posting was made today that advertises a product. The posting was not suitable for vrf.
The problem with it was the amount of detail and "hype". Other than that, we think the information would be useful to at least some vrf-ers.
While we definitely want the vrf to be used to exchange useful information, we don't want it to become a spam-fest or a marketplace. If we allow such postings, we're liable to see escalation to higher and higher levels of sales pitch, maybe with large .bmps or flash animations, etc. We don't want that to happen.
So we are removing the post from the archive (someday we will make that archive available to you for search, but right now, we're a bit too busy). We will allow the problem article to be reposted once it meets the guidelines below:
- DO post brief, objective information about new services, new products, or new revisions of existing products
- DON'T repeat postings you've already made, or post more than twice about the same service, product, or product revision
- DO post the name of the product and a one or two line summary of what the product does and/or what is new and significant. You can mention your company name.
- DON'T post lists of features or details of new or existing functionality
- DON'T post "hype", i.e. don't tell us about how great the product is and how it will improve your life and get you promoted
- DO post a URL to your website where you can describe the product in the way you think is most effective, with as much detail and multimedia as you like
- DON'T post pictures, screenshots, animations, movies, .wav sounds, etc. Some of our members are on slow connections, and these media tend to be large and may require downloading special plug-ins for your browser
Example acceptable posting
---
Subject: Update of Digitator software to Revision 1.1
Digitator is a set of VEE libraries that counts the digits on a cellphone keypad. The 1.1 version adds counting of non-numeric symbols and the Mute button on the pad.

Subject: Digitator 1.1 speeds your cellphone keypad counting by 400%!!!!!!
Following in the wake of the tremenedously successful Digitator 1.0, Digitator 1.1 raises the bar for speed and accuracy of in-house cellphone keypad digitation!!!! You'll be amazed at the speed increases!!!!!
Features:
- keeps track of even and odd digits separately
- new pale blue on mauve Windows color scheme
- can count alphabetic symbols (extra cost option)
- and 1000s more!!!!
