vrf Using Labview with Agilent 82350A

HI Jay,

Can you help me with this problem too....!!??

I'm tasked to do a automation program to automate waveform accquisition for
signal comparison for
a spectrum analyser (HP8539E from agilent) and a HPIB_PCI card (HP82350A
from agilent).
Presently, I am using Labview version 6.0 with Window 95 and have being
trying to configure the setup to automate
the accquisition of the waveform from the spectrum analyser.

My primary objective is

1) Accquire the signal from the spectrum analyser before device A is turn
on. Obtain the frequencies and the amplitudes for
those signals above a certain threshold and save the data as well as the
waveform.

2) Turn on device A and accquire the signal again. Similarly, the
frequencies and amplitudes for those peaks will be
captured and tabulated. The data and waveform will similarly be saved.

3) The pre and post signals will then be compared and the delta will be
tabulated for further manual checks.

However, I now faced problems even at the first stage... getting labview
to recognise and "talk" to the spectrum analyser.

Seems that Kiran is facing the same problem as me. Is there any way that
you guys are able to help??

Thanks a million in advance!!!

Regards!

Kianchuan

Aw c'mon folks.

Yes, this is the VEE group, but over at the labview forum, nobody is going
to admit that the 82350 even exists.  There is no Agilent I/O forum, so
where is the poor guy supposed to go for answers?

Kiran, Agilent has just released a product called Test Automation Kit that
among other things addresses cross platform I/O.  We did extensive testing
of both the NI I/O card under Agilent I/O and the Agilent I/O cards under
LabVIEW. When properly configured, everything works on LabVIEW except MAX
(Measurement Automation Explorer, equivelent to Agilent VISA Assistant).  I
will send you a private message so that we don't bother this list with
details.
