vrf VRF RF Switch box

Hello Scott,

Have you considered building your own switch matrix?  In the past I have built switch matrices using (in general) Agilent switches and some form of controller.  Depending upon your architecture, (and I am guessing here), the 87104/6 family of switches may be a good fit.  These come with many options regarding frequency range and methods of controlling the switch (TTL or using open/short dc connections).  If you are after GPIB based control, then you could use a 3499 mainframe with a plug-in card of your choice (the plug in could be a digital IO module providing you with TTL, or a relay card allowing you to switch short/open to the relevant switch control port).  Also note that some of the 3499 plug-ins support RF switches.  The data sheets on the switches should be on our web-site, otherwise try and get hold of a Microwave Test Accessories catalogue. 

The other system I have used is VXI based RF switches, but I guess this could get expensive when you start to include the Slot0 controller and mainframe (you probably wont achieve sufficient switching density to flip you over into making it worthwhile).

One thing to look for when you are comparing switch performance is repeatability (over the life of the switch).

Hello VRF'ers,

A new project I have been assigned to requires a 2 X 10 port matrix relay
box with freq range up to 1GHz.
Our specifications are fairly tight and so performance is going to be
critical. It should also be controllable with VEE (preferable IEEE).

Can anyone suggest a manufacturer or product that they have used and are
happy with.
If you have contact information for the product that would be great.
