vrf Transmitting Hex serial

Question asked by VRFuser on Sep 11, 2006
Yes, write binary byte will send true hex.  In principle, read binary byte with array sized to match message should work but there is a problem with reads being interupted by char 0x0a.

An alternate is to read characters into an array and use char_to_int to get values.

Subject: [vrf] Transmitting Hex serial

Hi

I need to transmit a text  string over RS232 as true hex not ASCII How do I do this please? Will WRITE BINARY BYTE work?

Also the string I receive back has no guaranteed line terminator but will always  be a fixed length meassage.  What is the neatest way of receiving the reply?
