vrf Adding a time-out to an external app call

Question asked by VRFuser on Nov 14, 2001
Paul,
You have two choices when running a program - 'wait for exit' = yes or
no.  The first ( purposely ) puts the VEE program at the mercy of the child
process so this is not going to help you.  Better is to use 'no' and find
some interprocess way of finding out when the child has finished - I feel
sure that one of our [VRF] Windows API gurus will have some way of
detecting what is runnning in the process table or you may have control of
the child to be able to write a file ( for example ) and keep looking for
the file before continuing.

Hope that helps.

Regards,

Mike Watts
