Question asked by VRFuser on Oct 16, 2001

This program looks very interesting to me but is there also a version with can be used on windows and on UNIX?
Do you maybe have a example of how to use gravity box in HPVee at windows.

Lots greetings and thank

Try www.gravitybox.com they have a DirBrowser ActiveX.  Very easy to use and
it is Freeware so there are no legal issues/guilt pangs.  You would have to
distribute the OCX though.

Not sure I understand that dialog.  What I want to do is not select a file,
but a directory.  I don't even want to see any files.  If I set the filter
to a type I don't expect to see in the directory structure like '*.zzz' I
see no files, only directories.  But I have to click twice, and there is a
default file showing 34970.vee.  I can always strip that off, but...

What I was hoping to find is the dialog that many install programs have.
You get a browse button, that opens a dialog for a directory selection.
You don't see any files.  Is that something custom written by the install
programs rather than a function I can invoke?

And one additional question on activeX:  I have Microsoft Common Dialog 6.0
turned on in ActiveX control reference.  But when I try to place an common
dialog control, I get an 'error 557, activeX object could not be created,
activeX control is not licensed for use on this machine'.  What am I
lacking?  Do I need to install visual basic?  I thought I had that, but
must not have installed it after the last rebuild.  Also, does any machine
that would run .vxe code later need to have something installed to make it
work?  Could that lack of whatever be the reason that the example is not
working as I expected?

I really appreciate the help, and am looking forward to that sorted
directory selection dialog!
