AW: vrf XP and VEE

Question asked by aufenanger on Feb 26, 2002
Hi to all,

I am using XP now for six month. I am using VEE 6 and VEE5 all the time. I
never found any problem in using the program, and ActiveX- options. In some
cases it works better than under NT or 95/98.  I did not test any
GPIB-equipment jet as I use VEE instead of other programming lanuages for
normal office programs. No problem at all by now with this.

Best regards

Scott, VEE 6 and 5 do not support Windows XP. The installers will probably
fail, though no one here has tried them to see what would happen. Similarly,
no one here knows how well revs 6 and 5 might operate in XP, since we
haven't QAd these combinations, and don't plan to.

I announced "VEE Next Rev" (aka VEE-NR) on the vrf in Dec. One of its
features will be full XP support. Will be released some time in the second
quarter of this year.

Note that the IO Libraries Revision L.01.00, which is the first rev that
supports XP, does not support XP Home, just XP Professional. VEE will by
necessity also not support XP Home, since we use IO Libraries. You can find
details of Rev L.01.00 at < http://www.agilent.com/find/iolib >.

You can't find details of VEE-NR anywhere yet, except here in the vrf

Sincerely,

Scott Bayes
