Changing range while keeping the CALC:STAT ON.

Question asked by john-ove on Mar 12, 2012

I am trying to remote program an Agilent 34401A to be able to change the measurement range while still being able to
keep the math NULL for eliminating the resistance measurement error caused by the measurement leads.

I am communicating via RS 232.

I am sending while holding the leads together. The NULL function has allready been selected.

The problem is when I want to change the measurement range.

CONF:RES Sending this command turns off the math NULL function.
Is it not possible to change the measurement range while still have the function math NULL still active?

Maybe it is not necessary to actually change the range, but I would like to know for sure if this is possible or not?

I am using the READ? function for reading the values from the multimeter.
