vrf AC Measurements using HP34970A

Question asked by VRFuser on Apr 29, 2002
Thanks to everybody who replied.

I believe I figured out the problem.

The device I am measuring, also passes DC voltage.

I am taking a DC voltage measurement & then a AC measurement straight
afterwards.
When manually checking the display, if you take a DC measurement using the
same
channel , then change the display to read the AC voltage, the reading first
appears
as 1.38vac & then changes to 0.899vac.

If I force the HP34970A to read the AC reading twice in VeePro. The first
reading
is 1.38vac & then the second value is correct. After investigating this, it
appears it only
the first reading that is wrong!

Anyway thanks again to everybody who made suggestions.
