vrf VEE source code control and configuration management

Question asked by VRFuser on Mar 27, 2002
Carl,
I use Microsoft Visual SourceSafe.  I have not found a 'foolproof'
method of using this yet but it does help enormously in tracking changes
and keeping tabs on versions for projects.  It requires some discipline in
use.

You can add ( for example ) labels with the text "$Revision: $" in them and
VSS will update the revision ( and other information ) as time and
revisions go on.

VSS provides an ActiveX layer too - one day, in my spare time, I'll come up
with a mechanism for using VEE with VSS in a more heavily enforced manner.

Hope that helps,

Mike Watts
