<!doctype html public "-//w3c//dtd html 4.0 transitional//en"><html>Hello Gavin,
We have made for our test executive rtmTE a solution similar what youare asking for. The design is a server-based database in Access (or MS-SQL)and a locally database in Access on each test station. The server-baseddatabase is updated after each device/item/product/ tested. If for somereason the server based database is not connectable the locally databaseis updated. So next time a device/item/product/ is tested we check if thereare any data in the local database and if so the locally stored date ismoved to the server-based database.
The code to handle the database is written i Visual Basic and it iscalled from within the Vee environment<p>Best regards<p>Svante Sundelin<p>Rationell Teknik och Management AB

The problem is that the server, from time to time will be disconnectedfrom
the network.
A option I have been looking at is too store a local copy of the database
on the
machine running Vee Pro & then every so often copy the databaseto the
server.
Obviously I will need to check that the server is active.<p>Has anybody had experience in this area?<p>Any code or help will be appreciated.<p>Thanks for your help in advance.<p>Thanks<p>Gavin Candy.
