Hello Svante,
Thanks for your input. We have already used Visual Basic witin the
company to do
the task described (So I have the code) , but I have had no experience
inputting VB code into VEE, so how do you
go about it. Is it easy?.
Best Regards
Gavin.

Hello Gavin,
We have made for our test executive rtmTE a solution similar what you are
asking for. The design is a server-based database in Access (or MS-SQL) and
a locally database in Access on each test station. The server-based
database is updated after each device/item/product/ tested. If for some
reason the server based database is not connectable the locally database is
updated. So next time a device/item/product/ is tested we check if there
are any data in the local database and if so the locally stored date is
moved to the server-based database.
The code to handle the database is written i Visual Basic and it is called
from within the Vee environment

I am currently storing test data to a Access database on a server.
The problem is that the server, from time to time will be disconnected from
the network.
A option I have been looking at is too store a local copy of the database
on the
machine running Vee Pro & then every so often copy the database to the
server.
Obviously I will need to check that the server is active.
Has anybody had experience in this area?
Any code or help will be appreciated.
Thanks for your help in advance.
Thanks
