Hello,
did you try the free Peek-Poke utility? It works for Win NT and Win95,
probably also for Win98?
I used this utility for Win NT4 and it works without any problems.
I have included information from Mark Goldberg, which was posted earlier.
Best regards,
Martin

Here are a couple of links that should help you. I have recently tried both.
The agilent link is for their peekpoke and example file and the jspayne is a
driver (ActiveX) you can download as a sample but need to purchase to use
for a final application. The peekpoke is easier for NT and win2000 and the
jspayne is easier for win95, win98 etc. I have contacted jspayne and the
.ocx file is compatable through winxp, but is a little trickier to use.

Maybe it could help you.

Hello Andre,
I followed your instructions and it succeeded. The only thing I also had
to do was to copy the ppppapi.dll from the ntpio archive to the
windows2000system directory. Because there are two dll's, one for Win9x
and one for WinNT/2000. And both has the same name but different sizes.
After I did that I could read and write 8-Bit Data over the parallel port
in EPP-Mode.
Thank you very much for your useful help!!!
Best regards

Betreff: Re: vrf using ntpio.exe (PPPPDVR.SYS) under Windows2000 ???
Hello Carsten,
I use PPPPDVR.SYS under Windows 2000, and it works.
After running <DVRLOAD.EXE> (comes with ppppdvr.sys) I did the following
(the names are "guessed" translations from the German Windows version),
while administrator privileges are necessary:
start "Device Manager"
enable "show hidden devices" under "View"
selected "non-PNP drivers"
selected "properties" from context menu of "ppppdvr"
started the driver, selected "automatically" for "type of start"
(in order to have this driver started for non-administrator users)
Check whether ppppdvr.sys runs:
in the console window "Computer administration" (??)
select "System"
select "System information"
select "Software environment"
select "Drivers"
for "ppppdvr" state=running should be displayed.
After doing all this, I was able to send data over parallel port from VEE. I
did not try to receive data.
Good luck!
