vrf Binblock decoding

Hello everyone,
I have to read a binblock IEEE488.2 from a receiver. The first 20 bytes are
int32, the following bytes are real32. Using direct I/O i can choose only
one format for the whole binblock. But I need all of the data. Does anyone
know a smart solution? I can only think of reading in Byte format and
converting by self written code...
